RE•PROGRAM: The Free Course on Home Studio Equipment

About Course

This Home Recording Studio course is FREE to all music artists at the beginning of their audio recording journey, for those who:

  • Want to start immediately without any money
  • Need guidance on what equipment to start with
  • Where to buy new and mostly used gear for their setup
  • Want the freedom to record without being on the clock.

Keep in mind these are recommendations that I've either used or experienced, so treat it as a general guideline and feel free to check other brands that are similar to what I've suggested. Also keep note that this is to get going ASAP and then upgrade later on as you progress.

If you have better suggestions or questions...please feel free to comment below under the videos, and I will try my best to keep this course up-to-date as technology evolves. Also, if you found this helpful please share it to someone that really needs help in figuring out where to start when it comes to buying equipment. I made this free because this is the part where it can get very expensive, but this is also a self-investment to get going immediately and possibly upgrade over time, and there is no other obligation to purchase anything from me at all.

But, if you feel like you're ready to take your skills to the next level and make a self investment into the correct knowledge to obtain a high quality recording/mix/master, then message me on my social media, we'll talk it over on zoom or similar outlet, and we can figure out what's best for you ASAP.

Good luck and Welcome to re• academy.

Course Instructor

Bao Pham is a Vietnamese-American Producer/Engineer/Songwriter and business owner of Mixology Studios Online, born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. With extensive studies in music since the age of four, Bao is classically trained in piano, guitar, and saxophone; in his younger years, he also played as a keyboardist and rhythm guitar/bass for his father's band, The QB Band, promptly named after Bao's middle and first name initials.

Bao's experiences with live instrumentation, along with a classically trained ear, and love for Hip-Hop music all the while attending Arts and Academics schools propelled him to pursue a career in music production, and his first placement (Watch What You Say To Me, featuring Jay-Z) appeared on T.I. vs. T.I.P., the fifth studio album by American rapper T.I., released on July 3, 2007 through Grand Hustle Records, Asylum Records and Atlantic Records.

Bao later pursued to open a recording studio in Montgomery in October of 2009, Mixology Recording Studios, also owned and operated by himself successfully--working with numerous local and independent artists as well as major artists, one namely the late Glenn Thomas aka Doe B, a rising star signed to A&M/Geffen and T.I.'s Hustle Gang Records until he was tragically gunned down in December of 2013.

In the past decade, Bao has gone on to work with other prominent rappers, singer/songwriters, and producers such as Young Dro, Shek’spere (producer: TLC, NSync, Whitney Houston, Destiny’s Child),Yo Gotti, Rocko, Busta Rhymes, Joell Ortiz, Zaytoven, Verse Simmonds, Future, Watch the Duck, Christina Milian, Estelle, Bigga Rankin, Kalenna Harper (Dirty Money),Ursula (Sevyn Streeter, Jennifer Lopez),Nicki Minaj, Rich Homie Quan, Trae Da Truth, Sam Chris (Doctor’s Advocate),Nikki Grier (Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kanye West, Big KRIT, Michael Jackson),Moneybagg Yo, Lady K, and many, many more.
